Teaching is
Important
Today's fast paced world is in need of dedicated teachers
who are interested in nurturing young children and adolescents
in preparing to become knowledgeable and well prepared adults.
K-State prepares preschool, elementary and secondary teachers.
Our elementary and secondary education programs are among
the University's most popular majors. As a graduate of K-State's
teacher education program, you'll enter the job market with
more practical experiences than you would have in many traditional
teacher preparation programs.
Nationally Accredited
Kansas State University's teacher education programs are accredited
by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
In fact, the team of national reviewers cited the College
of Education's collaboration with local schools as an exemplary
practice. Furthermore, our graduates are sought by school
districts of all sizes and locale due to the excellent preparation
they have received in their program of study here at KSU.
Hands-on Experience
K-State's philosophy is simple. The more opportunities you
have for real classroom experience, the better prepared you
will be. You'll work with veteran teachers in professional
development schools. You'll practice instructional decision
making and state-of-the-art technology. You'll be a classroom
pro by the time you student teach.
Education majors participate in programs of study that integrate
theory and practice. You will look at teaching in new, innovative
ways and apply classroom management strategies that contribute
to a positive learning environment.
