Scholarship Requirements
  • Tomorrow's Teacher scholarships are offered to high school seniors who are Kansas residents.
  • Applicants must have graduated from a Kansas high school with a grade point average of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must write an essay of at least 1,000 words answering the question, "What will tomorrow's teacher need in order to be effective in and out of the classroom?"
  • Tomorrow's Teacher Scholarship awards are not based upon financial need.
  • Recipients must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours, preferably 15 credit hours, each semester.
  • Recipients must agree to perform at least 100 hours of community service during a 12-month period from September 1st through August 31st.
  • In order to gain a basic understanding of the business world and thus deliver a holistic approach to education, recipients must agree to take at least one elective course in the College of Business Administration, College of Human Ecology, or College of Arts and Sciences dealing with personal finance, investment, economics, marketing, business process, or corporate finance during each year the recipient is awarded the scholarship.
  • Freshmen recipients will be eligible to receive scholarship awards in the subsequent three years provided they maintain a grade point average of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; perform the required minimum of 100 hours of community service during each twelve-month period from September 1 through August 31; take at least one course dealing with business, finance, or economics during each school year; and reapply for the scholarship each year by completing the Kansas State University scholarship application by February 1.   • Freshmen applicants must complete and file the Kansas State University scholarship application with KSU's Student Financial Assistance Office prior to February 1. The Kansas State University scholarship application can be found here. Click on the Scholarship section. In addition, the applicant must complete the Tomorrow's Teacher Scholarship Application by March 1. This application may be completed on-line in the On-line Application Section of this web site. Essays may be written in the On-line Application Section and submitted with the application by clicking the "Submit" button. Applications and essays may also be mailed to:

  • The applications and essays will be reviewed by the College of Education Scholarship Committee. Recipients will be notified by April 1 of each year.
